Russian Army Use Zircon Missiles: UAF Speaker Explains Why

This may indicate a serious problem for Russians.

Speaker of the Air Force of Ukraine Ilya Yevlash noted that the probable use of hypersonic missiles Zircon by the Russian occupation forces may indicate that the Russian Federation has a shortage of other types of missiles, Radio Liberty informs.

"The fact that they use them, most likely, indicates that they already have a shortage of weapons, otherwise they would not use them. In general, this type of missile is anti-ship, and it is used only in separate cases, using various launchers such as the Bastion or Bal. However, we can say that if they, for example, had enough of other types of missiles — the Kalibr, Iskander cruise missiles, other missiles — they would use them," he said.

Yevlash said that now the research expert centre is establishing whether the Russian troops used Zircon missiles during the last attacks on Ukraine.

According to him, the Russians can check the Ukrainian air defence system this way.

"This [using the Zircon missiles - Ed.] can also be a certain experiment: to check our air defence system, where, what and how is protected, what is covered, to use it in the future when planning their subsequent air attacks," he added.
