The coordinator of “European Belarus”civil campaign warns.
“In the last few days an interview with a former officer of the Interior Affairs Ministry of Belarus Vasily Mikhnevich was promulgated on several Belarusian and foreign websites,” Zmitser Bandarenka said in a comment to charter97.org. “Among other things, this man informs that he was my cellmate in Amerikanka prison [the KGB remand prison] in 2011, and that allegedly he landed considerable assistance to me.
In this connection I would like to make a statement that I stayed in the KGB remand prison in №13 cell with this man for four days. He helped the administration of the remand prison to send me to the punishment cell for 10 days, and for the first day I was chained to the wall there.
Vasily Mikhnevich was in command of the riot police detachments of the Interior Affairs Ministry’s Internal Troops, was a colonel of the Economic Crimes Department in Minsk. Until 2010 he had been serving the regime truly, and when he went abroad, all of a sudden he turned into an expert on Belarusian opposition.
Vasily Mikhnevich is not to be trusted. Be careful when you are dealing with this man.”
