Stanislau Shushkevich: Elections in Belarus is special services' operation

Participation in them is a legitimization of the dictatorship.

First head of independent Belarus Stanislau Shushkevich informed Radio Racyja.

He believes that one cannot play fair, as there are no rules in the country, and it is needed to find new ways to come to power.

"All the people with conscience and honour should ignore these 'elections', the politician noted. - All that is being done now has its aim to participate somehow both in presidential and parliamentary elections. Our legislation and regulations approved by the Election Commission are such that there can be no elections. It will be an operation of special services. And any participation in such elections is an actual legitimization of illegitimate power that exists".

Stanislau Shushkevich believes that nomination of imprisoned Mikalai Statkevich as the candidate for Presidency from opposition is unacceptable variant for future elections.
