Date of Ales Charkashyn’s funeral still unknown

The body of the Belarusian killed in Donbas still stays on the territory of Ukraine, in one of the hospitals of Dnipropetrovsk.

Radio Racyja was told about that by the Belarusian Embassy in Kyiv. At the same time, the diplomatic mission had fulfilled all their obligations in this affair, they noted, and they refuted information of a number of mass media about delay of consular procedures.

- There have been no delay, I would like to make it clear, it is possible that some “Broken Telephone play” could have taken place. The Embassy is taking the most active part in this process, in order to offer all the necessary assistance to the relatives of our departed Belarusian, for his transportation. The relatives have not addressed the Embassy for help so far, I must say. We contact the hospital all the time, and I think that in the nearest future we are going to receive the full information,” the Embassy representative said.

Ales Charkashyn is a Belarusian from the Volunteered Ukrainian Corps Right Sector. He died last Friday from wounds he received in a battle near Starohnativka in eastern Ukraine. The guy had a nom de guerre “Taras”, he was 33 years old. It is known that he fought in Ukraine since the beginning of the winter. The parents of Ales live in Brest. They want to bury their son in his homeland. The date of the funeral is still unknown.
