Tenth-Grader Sentenced In RF To 3.5 Years For 'Death To Regime' Graffiti
LYUBOV LIZUNOVA

She was detained at the end of October 2022.

The 1st Eastern District Military Court sentenced 19-year-old Alexander Snezhkov and 16-year-old Lyubov Lizunova to 6 and 3.5 years in prison respectively for anti-war graffiti. They were found guilty of extremist activity and calls to carry out terrorist activities, the court's press service reported.

Earlier, the prosecutor requested seven years for Snezhkov and five years for Lizunova. The third defendant in the case was Vladislav Vishnevsky - the court sentenced him to 1.5 years of forced labour.

The teenagers were detained in Chita at the end of October 2022 because of the graffiti of ‘Death to the Regime’ on one of the garages. At first, both persons were released on their own recognisance, but in January 2023 it became known that Snezhkov was arrested and placed in the pre-trial detention centre in Omsk, and Lizunova was transferred under house arrest. In early April 2024, the schoolgirl was also sent to the pre-trial detention centre.

The court terminated the criminal case of Lizunova on vandalism due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
