Ukraine Under Missile Attack Through Airspace Of Belarusian Homel Region

This made it impossible to identify and destroy missiles.

On the night of April 26 to April 27, several Russian missiles passed through the airspace of Belarus. Two Ukrainian monitoring channels reported this, according to Flagshtok.

The Monitor channel published an infographic by Texty.org.ua on the movement of air targets over Ukraine on April 26–27.

The scheme shows that high-speed targets or Khinzal missiles launched over the territory of the Russian Federation entered the airspace of the Chernihiv region, crossed the territory of Belarus over the Brahinski districts and continued to move over the Kyiv region in the direction of the west of Ukraine.

According to the Monitor’s infographic, the missiles covered 19-24 km of the Belarusian airspace.

The Ukrainski Enot monitoring channel commented on this incident in a publication on April 27:

"What is more interesting is that part of the Killjoy missiles (the X-47M2 Khinzal) flew over the territory of Belarus, which made it impossible to detect them prematurely with air defence systems and destroy them."

The representative of the channel clarified this information to Flagshtok: the data was obtained from the air defence systems of Ukraine. The first launch was before midnight on April 26, subsequent launches were on April 27 after 5 a.m. (local time).

No information was received on the launches of air defence missiles from their bases in the Homel, Yel and Mazyr districts of Belarus on April 26–27. From this it can be concluded that the air defence of Belarus could not respond to the missiles over its area of responsibility or deliberately did not react.

Earlier, a "transit" flight of a Russian air target was recorded over the territory of Belarus. In 2023, on October 25, a Russian drone used the airspace of Belarus. Then the air defence system, located in the Mazyr district, fired a volley at the target, but could not hit the UAV. The drone continued its movement in the Kyiv region.
