Unknown Persons Shot Two Police Officers In Russia

Four more were injured.

In the Russian Karachay-Cherkessia, in the village of Mara Ayagy, unknown persons attacked traffic police officers, throwing an explosive device at them and firing automatic guns.

Two police officers were killed and four law enforcement officers were injured. The attackers were killed by return fire, Radio Liberty reports.

It is specified that the dead police officers were sent to serve in the Kurgan region. Two local traffic police officers, the officers of the Russian Guard, as well as another police officer from the Kurgan region, were injured.

The attack took place on the night of April 28-29. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the attackers drove up to the temporary traffic police post, threw an explosive device at the police and opened fire. It is alleged that an explosive device detonated on one of the attackers.

"Several improvised explosive devices were found at the scene, an investigative team and explosives technicians are working," the Interior Ministry commented.
