Expobel shopping mall: Bollards painted and holes filled up before Lukashenka’s visit

The shopping and entertainment mall “Expobel” is getting ready for the visit of the dictator.

On Monday morning the news arrived that Alyaksandr Lukashenka is to meet with market traders of Expobel consumer goods marketplace on March 17 in the morning. Sole traders have already been asked to be present at their working places at 7 a.m., Salidarnasts writes.

One of the sole traders, who is working in the shopping and entertainment mall, told that new taxes could become too high for many small traders, especially in provinces.

- The volume of trade has decreased: people come to buy insignificant quantities. So even Br2 mln of additional payments to the state could mean that sole traders lose their primary income, - the interlocutor said.

According to him, the real conversation of common traders with the head of the state is unlikely to take place: before the meeting slips of paper with “approved” questions had been handed out to “chosen” participants of the meeting. Their ID details were copied, and the work around Expobel is humming.

The interlocutor noted that “traffic police limited access to the mall, building equipment is filling up holes with sand, while workers are painting bollards…”

We remind that sole traders demand from the authorities to impose moratorium on implementation of Decree No.222 and to allow selling leftover stock without documents constantly. They also ask to stop inspections and seizure of goods.
