Soyuz MS-25 With Belarusian Woman On Board Docks To ISS

The flight took two days, not three hours, as previously planned.

On Saturday, Belarusian cosmonaut Maryna Vasileuskaya went into space as part of the main crew. The flight took two days, not three hours, as previously planned. Today, on March 25, the ship docked at the International Space Station, writes zerkalo.io.

The main crew of the 21st expedition included Belarusian Maryna Vasileuskaya, a native of Belarus and Roscosmos pilot-cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, as well as NASA astronaut Tracy Caldwell-Dyson.

The flight to the ISS took two days, not three hours, as was planned on March 21. Then it was planned that the flight would take place according to an ultra-fast two-orbit rendezvous scheme and would take 3 hours and 19 minutes. Since the launch was postponed, the ballistic flight pattern changed; in such situations, they switch to a two-day flight pattern. The ship made approximately 34 revolutions around the Earth, and the total flight duration was about 50 hours.

The launch of the crew of the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft with the first Belarusian cosmonaut on board was scheduled for March 21. The launch was supposed to take place at 16.21, but it was canceled at the last moment. As head of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov explained that the reason for the cancellation of the launch was “a voltage drop in the chemical current source.” Maryna Vasileuskaya flew into space on her second attempt on March 23.
