Zelensky Dismisses Danilov From National Security And Defense Council Secretary Position

What is known at the moment?

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Oleksiy Danilov from the post of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Oleksandr Litvinenko, the Foreign Intelligence Service Chief, replaces him.

According to obozrevatel.com, the relevant decrees appeared on the website of the head of state on March 26.

"To dismiss Danilov Oleksiy Miecheslavovich from the post of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine," reads the presidential decree number 186/2024, dated March 26.

Instead of Danilov, the department is headed by Oleksandr Litvinenko, who until today headed the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine. The relevant personnel changes are provided by the Decrees 187/2024 and 188/2024.

Zelensky also appointed a successor to Litvinenko in the Foreign Intelligence Service – Oleh Ivashchenko.
