Lukashenka Gives Way: Chair Now Carried Around For Old Man

Even propagandists can't hide the dictator's health problems.

Looking at the photos of Aliaksandr Lukashenka in 2019, it is hard to believe that they were taken just five years ago. The photos show a rather young and trim politician, writes Salidarnasts.

It is well noticeable that since then, the ruler has become considerably heavier and older. You can see it even in the photoshopped photos of his press service.

Previously, during his business trips Lukashenka used to answer the questions of journalists of state media exclusively standing up. A few years ago nobody could think that the physical form of the ruler would deteriorate so much that it would be necessary to carry around a chair for him to be able to talk to propagandists for a few tens of minutes.

It happened, for example, the other day during his visit to Ashmiany district.

Lukashenka's trips outside Minsk are becoming far less regular. Previously, he could visit more than one district in a month. Can you remember a lot of his business trips to the regions lately?

In January, Lukashenka travelled to Barysau district to visit BelGee (an hour's drive from Minsk). That's all - until the business trip to Ashmiany district, where he held almost all the events in one place. There was no official information about the trips to the regions.

Now Lukashenka more often goes to see Putin, whose invitations he can't turn down.

Flights are hard for the ruler, but he has no other choice. The video cameras record abroad a tired and waddling politician, who physically cannot withstand the pace of his colleagues in the post-Soviet space.

In Belarus, Lukashenka practically never leaves the Palace of Independence. No estimates have been made, but it seems that 90% of all official events involving the ruler are held there: meetings and conferences with officials and law enforcers, presentation of state awards, etc.

However, even with this, there are more and more holes in his working week: it is not known what he does on some of the days.

The ruler's press secretary, Natallia Eismant, tried to justify the chief a few weeks ago, saying: "By the way, I can tell you that the head of state has already toured the fields in Minsk region, not far from where he lives, without the presence of the media. I know for sure that he has inspected, looked at the state of the soil and so on.

Apparently, one should believe that if there is a hole in Lukashenka's working schedule, he is wandering somewhere in the fields.

The "Pool of the First" telegram channel, close to the ruler, covers the lack of information as best it can. For example, with reports that "lemons have blossomed" (universal variant - "lemons are ripening") in the Palace of Independence.

Two months ago, the ruler declared:

"A lot of people are now saying that either Lukashenka is dying or his health is deteriorating... My health is fine. Thank God, I haven't turned to the emergency hospital".

Perhaps, it is a rare case when his words can be believed. Probably, they really don't call an ambulance to the ruler yet. But the fact that his deteriorating physical condition is now seriously affecting his behaviour is obvious.
