Belarusians Do Not Like Vodka Any Longer

The sales are falling.

Belstat has published statistics on alcohol consumption in Belarus in the first quarter of 2024.

The sales of vodka have fallen. Compared to the same period of 2023, the dynamics is negative: Belarusians bought 2.2% less of this drink than a year ago. In the first quarter of 2024, 1,867.6 thousand decalitres of vodka were sold, while last year the figure was 1,909.9 thousand decalitres.

A similar trend was noticed in the sale of grape and fruit wines: they decreased by 3.8% and 2.5%.

Low-alcohol beverages showed the greatest growth - sales rose by 12.1%.

Belarusians drank more sparkling wines and cognac - sales grew by 5.4% and 8.7%, respectively.
